How to make Chocolate Snowflake Sandwich Cookies

Place flour and cocoa ponder into a large mixing bowl and whisk together.

Place Nutella, egg, coffee liqueur and vanilla extract into a mixing bowl and mix until well combined.

Combine the dry and wet ingredients and mix until dough is formed.

Form the dough into a round disc.

Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

    When Ready to Bake

    Preheat oven to 350°.

Remove dough from refrigerator and roll out on slightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.

    Cut out cookie shapes.

Place cookies on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for about 7-9 minutes. Baking depends on size of the cookies. If making small cookies check at 7 minutes. The edges should look baked and slightly darker.

Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Once cooled, spread a generous amount of Nutella hazelnut spread onto a cookie and add another cookie on top to make a sandwich. Dab a bit of Nutella onto the edge of the cookies and roll in coconut. Use the Nutella spread to act as glue if adding sprinkle or other decorations.
