Fudge can be enjoyed all year round. In the summer it is reminiscent of county fairs and theme parks and in the winter, it is a reminder of chili, cozy holidays. Fudge is a simple and great handmade food gift idea for anyone since there are so many flavors available to make for anyone’s taste.

Ingredients you will need:

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup or 1 stick unsalted butter, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 1 and 1/3 cup good quality white chocolate, broken into pieces
  • Flaked sea salt

How to make salted caramel fudge:

Step 1: Prepare an 8-inch square pan by greasing it and then lining it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Combine sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, butter, and golden syrup in a medium saucepan. Heat on low, stirring until well mixed and the sugar melts.

Step 3: Increase the heat to medium and keep stirring until the mixture starts to simmer and thickens, which should take about 5-6 minutes. Take the caramel mixture off the heat and mix in the white chocolate.

Step 4: Pour the fudge mixture into the tin that has been prepared. Make sure to smooth out the top and sprinkle salt evenly. Let it chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours to firm up, or for best results, leave it overnight. Cut into generous squares when ready to serve, and keep any leftovers stored in the fridge.

How to store fudge:

Fudge can be stored in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place in an airtight container for about a week. If you live in a humid area, it’s best to keep the fudge refrigerated.

You can also freeze fudge. Remember to store it in an airtight container to prevent air exposure. It can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.
