How to make sauteed mushrooms and onions

Gather the listed ingredients and follow the simple instructions to make this delicious and versatile dish.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 lb white button mushrooms halved ( you can use baby bella mushrooms too)
  • 1 large sweet vidalia or white onion thinly sliced
  • 2 large cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil and melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Keep an eye on the butter making sure it does not burn.
  2. Mix in the Worcestershire Sauce.
  3. Toss in the mushrooms and sauté until they begin to brown, around 5 minutes. Stir every 1 1/2 minutes.
  4. Add in the onions and cook until they caramelize and turn translucent, about 5 minutes. Keep stirring every 1 1/2 minutes.
  5. Lastly, lower the heat, add the minced garlic, and stir constantly for the last minute.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to your preference.
