Ingredients
  

Almond Apple Cake

  • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups apples peeled and sliced
  • cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup light olive oil
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 2 tablespoon amaretto liqour
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Almond Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • ¼ cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Amaretto Dulce de Leche Sauce

  • ¼ cup dulce de leche
  • 2 tablespoon amaretto liquor

Almond Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • Mix all ingredients and set aside.

Almond Apple Cake

  • Pre heat oven to 375°. Lightly oil bunt or cake pan, set aside.
  • Peel and dice apples, set aside.
  • Place all dry ingredients - flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large mixing bowl and whisk together until fully combined. Set aside.
  • Melt butter.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, mix all wet ingredients - buttermilk, apple cider, melted butter, oil, eggs, amaretto liquor and vanilla extract.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Fold in lightly until fully mixed. Do not over mix.
  • Fold in apples, just until they are covered with batter. Do not over mix.
  • Place batter into oiled pan and bake for 40-45 minutes. Until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool completely before serving.

Amaretto Dulce de Leche Sauce

  • Mix amaretto and dulce de leche until smooth.
